The short version
The plugin does not collect, transmit, store remotely, or share any of your data — personal, image, or otherwise. It runs entirely inside Photoshop, on your own computer, and never makes a network connection of any kind.
What the plugin does with your files
When you run FM Halftone Screening, it reads the pixels of your active Photoshop document, computes the halftone screen, and writes the result back into that same document — all in memory, on your machine. Your image data never leaves Photoshop and is never sent anywhere, to us or to anyone else.
The one thing it writes to disk
For crash diagnosis, the plugin keeps a small local log file
(halftone-log.txt) in the plugin's own data folder,
noting which step was last run. This file:
- never leaves your computer — it is not uploaded, synced, or transmitted anywhere;
- contains only internal step names and timestamps, no image content or personal information;
- is overwritten each time you run the plugin, and you can delete it yourself at any time;
- exists solely so that if Photoshop crashes mid-run, you (or support) can see what the plugin was doing.
No analytics, no tracking, no accounts
The plugin has no analytics SDK, no telemetry, no crash-reporting service, no usage tracking, and no advertising or third-party code that phones home. It doesn't require an account, a license key check, or any sign-in of its own.
Adobe's own platform
You install, license, and run the plugin through Adobe Photoshop and (for paid distribution) the Adobe Exchange marketplace. Adobe handles that purchase, download, and update process under its own privacy policy and terms, which are outside our control — see Adobe's Privacy Policy for what Adobe itself collects.
Children's privacy
The plugin is a professional prepress tool and is not directed at children. Since it collects no data from anyone, it collects none from children either.
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes — for example, if a future version adds an optional online feature — we'll update this page and the plugin's version notes accordingly. As of the effective date above, the plugin is fully offline.
